Bill Brown
Bill Brown is an Optician and former owner of Brown Opticians. Bill and his lovely wife, Velma, are the devoted parents
of Bunny McKown, Deane Brown, Grant Brown, and Cynde Overcash. They also share the honor of being grandparents to twelve
and great-grandparents to two. Bill served in the US Navy from 1943 through 1946 in the Pacific. He graduated from Catawba
College and is a member of the Opticians Association of America and the National Academy of Opticians. He was recognized
as Civitan of the Year in 2001. We are grateful to Bill for his commitment to our Club and to its membership. His
patience, good humor, and expertise in parenting provide leadership qualities that will continue to move our Club forward.
