The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential…these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence.

WE HONOR OUR CIVITAN OF THE WEEK: Odd Juel

Our Civitan of the Week is also our newest member. Odd is a member by transfer from the Civitan Club of Norway. He is the father of two; Gry Elisabeth and Trude, and the proud grandfather of three. Odd is enjoying his retirement after many years in sales and marketing. He owned his own business where he sold shoe accessories, i.e. insoles, etc. Besides getting to know Spartanburg as his new home, Odd enjoys travel, meeting people (especially through Civitan), and studying Norwegian and European History. Odd is a graduate of City of London College, the University of Idaho, and Oslo Business College. Odd gives honor to his grandfather as the greatest influence in his life for his example in caring for family and friends. World War II also made an impact on Odd's life. An active Civitan in Norway, Odd served as President, Governor, and Board Member. We welcome Odd to our Club and look forward to many years of fellowship and friendship with him.

THERE IS NO MEETING ON JULY 4TH. HAVE A HAPPY AND SAFE HOLIDAY. I

As you enjoy your 4th of July, remember to pray for our service men who are meeting many challenges in their efforts to bring freedom to others. We are truly blessed to enjoy the freedoms we have and too often take them for granted.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT:

If you have access to a computer, have the ability to keep information if a 'findable' place, and are able to follow a simple format, YOU can create the Civitan Builder. It would be positively wonderful for someone or "ones" of you to volunteer for next year.

NEXT MEETING:

July 11: Our Speaker is Oakley Coburn. Oakley is the Dean of the Library at Wofford College. He will be sharing the "Treasures of Wofford".
