PROGRAM - July 11, 2003

Our Speaker was Oakley Coburn. Oakley is the Dean of the Library at Wofford College and gave us an overview of the antiquities housed within the Library/Museum. The Library displays over 9,000 rare books and 2, 000 hymnals. Oakley shared a choir book with us that was made in 1425 and was used by Monks. The choir book was done in beautiful calligraphy upon pages of sheep skin.

WE HONOR OUR CIVITAN OF THE WEEK: Bob L. Wynn, Jr.

Our Civitan of the Week is happily enjoying his retirement. Deservedly so, after 64 years of employment with various firms including Wofford Oil, Bell Aircraft, Rich's, Department Store Aug W. Smith Department Store, and Reed-Young Realtors. Bob could certainly offer some positive career tips. Bob is married to the beautiful Vivian and they are the proud parents of Robert L., III, Barry, Baxter, Jim, and Anne. They have six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Bob enjoys reading, sports, spending time with his family and walking. He is a graduate of North Georgia College and Georgia State University. Bob has been a loyal member of our Club since 1955. This year Bob serves on the Constitution and By-Laws, Publicity and Club Bulletin, and Charles Lea Center Committees. Bob's devoted membership provides a steadfast example of loyalty, respect, and support of programs and projects. We are grateful for Bob's kindness and friendship.
