Our
Speaker was Major John Rozsnyai from the Signal Company of the Spartanburg
National Guard. Major Rozsnyai informed
our group of the ongoing activities and responsibilities of the Guard in our
area and around the world. The National
Guard is the oldest component of the Armed Forces, formed in 1636, and accounts
for 56% of our total combat forces.

WE HONOR OUR CIVITAN OF THE WEEK: Bryan Bobo
Our Civitan of the
Week is employed with SIE Systems, Inc.
Bryan is the father of Kristopher and enjoys hunting and alpine
skiing. A graduate of the University of
South Carolina, Bryan is also a member of the Materials Handling and Management
Society. Bryan is a loyal supporter of
Civitan and has been a member of our Club since 1986. He served as SC District Governor in 1994-95 and as our Club President
in 1991-92. Currently, Bryan serves on
the Finance, Special Olympics, and VIP/Education Committees. Bryan also spends many hours assisting with
and organizing volunteers for Special Olympics events. We are thankful for Bryan's loyalty to our
Club and dedication to our mission.

begin with our first event on September 20.

Congratulations
to Jessica McCracken! Jessica was
awarded a $500 scholarship from our club to further her studies at the South
Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind.
Jessica is studying to become a certified Braille Transcriptionist. Our prayers support her during the fulfillment
of her dreams.

Executive Director of the Piedmont Care Consortium. Tracey will give us an update about the important work this group
does in providing services and healthcare to people living with HIV/Aids and
STDs and their families
